Day 221 – Not as fun as it looks
First of all, this is one of my entries for International Sofa Lounging Week. Yay!

The rest of this is Boo, so if you are an upbeat person, stop here.

Yesterday I went to IKEA to A) take an awesome sofa lounging photo (which I did), and B) have some Swedish meatballs (which I did). I kept the sofa pic in my back pocket in case I didn’t get another one done. Unlike a lot of 365ers, I have too many ideas, so I take extra shots and keep some around just in case.

Item B was absolutely delicious. I love these things so I had to large serving and the mashed potatoes with gravy and lingenberries. YUM! (I know, I said the rest was Boo and you are wondering where the awfulness is. The meatballs were a big part of the awfulness, but you have to have patience!)

Yesterday was also my night to have the kids. Traditionally, I take them out to dinner. Everyone agreed that Chinese sounded good, so there we went. I had unbelievably good Kung Pao chicken along with loads of fried rice. (You ladies who have been pregnant may now be getting any idea where this is leading, as far as Boodom.)

So, my son Danny pics up the soy sauce and reads the label. Apparently, the soy in the restaurant contains 1000mg of sodium per serving. A whole gram! I avoid using soy sauce, but I can’t help but notice that the rice is brown and tasty, as is my chicken. Oh Lord. (This is a big Boo hint)

We dropped the kids off and race to join some friends for karaoke. No, I didn’t sing publicly, even though Jamie is dying for me to do so. Maybe I will next week as a wedding present.

Whatever, we got home late. My shoes had been hurting me for a while, and when I took them off, I understood why. My feet were round like kielbasas, but not nearly as delicious looking! You could push into them up to your wrist! Boo!

This morning I made a stab at going to work. When the horrified secretary pointed out that my ankles were overlapping my tennis shoes (the only shoes I could wear, and only then while they were unlaced), I went home. They were literally sticking out of the sides a quarter inch.

I made the critical mistake of telling my fiancé Jamie what was going on. Because, she made me call the doctor and inform her of my condition. Nothing good will come of that. The doctor told me she thinks it was the saltballs for lunch and the kung pao salt with msg that created the issue. If my feet aren’t better by tomorrow, I need to go in. Boo!

So then, while I have been home I have had to keep my feet up. Now, my feet and ankles are almost back to normal. At least as far as I’ll tell Jamie. I hope she doesn’t look.

After today, I don’t know that I’ll be in the mood for a FUTAB tomorrow, but we’ll see.

Oh, and I have decided to stop hiding my horrible wound. I need to learn to be out in public with it, and I might as well learn in the company of my friends. Right?

This is my two hundred twentiy first self portrait for 365 Days.

Most light from the windows, but the 430EX is to camera right to knock down some shadows. A warming gel is also on, but it is all fired through a mylar sheet to soften the light.
